24V 12Ah battery with ABS case Application

The case of a battery is used to hold the electrolyte and the pole plate set and should be acid, heat and shock resistant. The case is mostly made of hard rubber or polypropylene plastic and has a monolithic structure with raised ribs at the bottom to hold the plates. The shell is divided into 3 or 6 unconnected compartments by the intervening walls and the compartments are connected in series with a lead link. The upper part of the battery housing is sealed with a battery cover of the same material. The battery cover is provided with a filling hole corresponding to each cell for adding electrolyte and distilled water and for measuring the specific gravity (also called relative density), temperature and level of the electrolyte. Ventilation holes in the cover of the filler hole allow the gases generated during the chemical reaction of the battery to escape smoothly.
The structural design of the valve regulated sealed lead-acid battery shell and cover mainly includes strength design, heat dissipation design and pole sealing design on the cover. The strength design requires that the outer wall of the battery should not be significantly deformed by gas expansion when tightly assembled and subjected to internal air pressure. For pp shell, steel shell reinforcement should be added; for 2v series batteries, the thickness of abs and pvc shells should generally reach 8~10mm. heat dissipation design requires a large heat dissipation area of the battery shell, good thermal conductivity of the material and the smaller the wall thickness, the better. The structure of the case is relatively simple, only the strength and cover package can be considered.

Valve regulated sealed lead-acid battery cases for power applications are usually made of a strong synthetic resin with a special treatment for high mechanical strength and a cover plate made of the same material and joined by heat welding. The battery cover encloses the inner chamber of the battery tank. The battery cover has 6 filling holes, through which the electrolyte of each individual battery is filled. The internal cavity of the battery tank is connected to the outside world via an exhaust pipe, which allows the gases generated during charging of the battery to be exhausted. The filling and venting holes are sealed by a safety valve to ensure the safety of the battery seal.
The sealing of the battery shell cover is divided into heat sealing and glue sealing, of which heat sealing is the most reliable sealing test. pp material is used for heat sealing, abs and pvc materials are generally used for glue sealing, the key to glue sealing is to use the appropriate epoxy resin. Pole sealing technology is a key technology in the production of valve-regulated sealed lead-acid batteries, and different manufacturers use different methods. The conventional battery is made of abs, pp, pe etc., while the medium and high-grade valve-controlled sealed lead-acid battery is generally made of abs and the non-valve-controlled battery is generally made of pp, pe etc.

Most of the electric car batteries are made of abs and other materials, which are rubber sealed batteries; most of the car batteries are made of pp and pe, which are heat-sealed batteries. Due to the different sealing methods, the equipment for assembling electric car batteries and car batteries are also different, and this is one of the differences between electric car battery assembly equipment and car battery assembly equipment.
